Carolyn Dewald has taught Classics at Stanford University, the University of Southern California, and Bard College. In addition to numerous specialized articles on ancient historiography and a book on narrative in Thucydides, she is the author of the introduction and notes to the Oxford World Classics edition of Herodotus and the editor, with John Marincola, of the Cambridge Companion to Herodotus.
